ALWAYS READY TO GO

 

Fornovo Gas Distribution has a broad and diverse fleet, fit to respond promptly to requests for transmission and supply of natural gas under conditions of emergency and routine management.
The current fleet of vehicles and equipment is composed of:

• 11 cylinder trailers
  
  
• 9 tank trailers
  
  
• 5 reduction cabins with natural gas preheating on skids, each with an hourly capacity of 3,000 Sm3/h
  
  
• 2 reduction cabins with electric preheating on skids, each with an hourly capacity of 1,200 Sm3/h
  
  
• 1 reduction cabin with electric preheating on skid with an hourly capacity of 800 Sm3/h
  
  

The total daily capacity of transportable natural gas is 96,920 Sm3. Our equipment and vehicles are located in Traversetolo, Mantua and Turin, based at the 3 company owned filling stations, where gas is compressed and loaded following the most stringent safety procedures.

The locations of the 3 filling stations allow us to cover the territory of northern Italy, while the speed of service, the capacity of the vehicles and the cooperation with selected partners allows us to provide a comprehensive service throughout the national territory, from Val d'Aosta to Sicily.

CYLINDER TRAILERS

 

The cylinder trailer is a road going semi-trailer composed of cylinders filled with compressed natural gas at a nominal pressure of 196 bar. It follows the ADR rules for road transport of flammable goods.

Fornovo Gas Distribution cylinder trailers are latest generation vehicles equipped with DTT 306 M documentation. This certifies their approval for the transport of natural gas according to the latest European directives, and of course they are equipped with the latest and most technological safety devices. In addition to the revisions required by law, our cylinder trailers are subjected to constant monitoring by our technical managers to ensure safety at the highest levels.

With a capacity ranging from 5,700 to 6,370 Sm3, our cylinder trailers are filled in the 3 company filling stations and are always ready to respond quickly to emergency calls.

TANKS TRAILERS

 

The tank trailers are road going semi-trailers composed of a single tank filled with compressed natural gas at a nominal pressure of 65 bar. They follow the ADR rules for road transport of flammable goods. These vehicles have the advantage of being able to be filled directly from a pipeline outlet and, thanks to a lower pressure than the cylinder trailers, in some cases they can be emptied without supervision.

Their use proves economically advantageous and interesting in cases where they can be refilled from a pipeline of first and / or second species in the vicinity of the discharge point.

Our tank trailers are equipped with sophisticated security devices and have a capacity of 3,800 Sm3 of transportable gas. In according with the professionalism of our company, they are inspected and serviced exclusively in authorized workshops by certified organizations.

REDUCTION AND PREHEATING CABINS

 

The reduction and preheating cabins reduce the pressure of the natural gas from the value present inside the cylinder trailer or tank trailer to the delivery pressure required by the end user.

The pressure reduction process entails an important lowering of the natural gas temperature due to a cryogenic effect. If it is not controlled, this phenomenon causes freezing in the pipes and equipment involved in the passage of gas, causing them to break. To avoid this inconvenience, the natural gas must be heated before its pressure is reduced to that of distribution.

Designed to accomplish just this purpose, the Fornovo Gas Distribution reduction and preheating cabins are our exclusive design. They are unique to the market, certified by a Notified Body and so guarantee the utmost seriousness in terms of safety.

Our cabins are also:

• easily transportable on ADR vehicles with a maximum load of 3.5 tons
  
  
• redundancy (dual reduction line, two natural gas boilers, dual hydraulic circuit ensure the declared capacity of 3,000 m3/h in any operating condition)
  
  
• equipped with all the safety devices necessary to ensure delivery in complete peace of mind
  
  
• suitable for installation in open countryside or in the most difficult areas, as they are equipped with a generator to ensure self-sufficiency; a reduction unit able to supply gas directly from the cylinder trailer or tanker trailer to the boilers; an autonomous system of lighting and signaling for working after dark and a 230 V AC 0.3 kW power point.
